19. Points. 6. Jul 29, 2011. #1. Had the Panda from new coming up to it's 4 year service with 43000miles on the clock. Been recommended by garage to have the timing belt replaced. Seems a bit soon to me as the manual recommends a 5 year interval. Maybe I can wait another year or perhaps play safe and get it done.
There’s no ‘one size fits all’ approach for how often to replace yours—a lot depends on your motor’s age and condition. There’s also huge variation between manufacturers and different engines. So you might need a new belt every 3 to 5 years, or after 40,000 or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.

May 12, 2017. #3. Best way I've seen:- Cut belt in half (lengthways) . remove half. Slide new belt on half way. Remove old half belt. Slide new one fully over wheels. Adjust. Job done.But, as above ,it's wise to change tensioner and pump if you can do easily. OP.

Place the new water pump. Install the new tension rollers, pay attention to the location of each one. Install the new distribution of your Fiat Punto Evo by respecting the markers. Tension the belt as outlined by the manufacturer’s data. Put the rest of it back together. Verify that the engine unit is running properly.
May 31, 2009. #4. In my country the dealer told me 60 000 km or 3 years. But this is a trick, to take your money often. The official book from FIAT says 120 000 km or 4/5 years. This procedure is expensive. I will change the belt after 4/5 years. G.
